What's Happening

The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre is accepting applications for the Jerome H. Kamps Memorial Award. The $500 award, which was established by the Kamps family in 2016, will be granted to a 2025 high school graduate who has been actively engaged in BDACT and other theater activities and is pursuing a post-high school education.

Wow, it’s only May and we already have five stage productions and four concerts behind us in the 2025 season. Now it’s auditioning season at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre. Well, to be more accurate, with over a dozen stage productions this season alone, it’s ALWAYS auditioning season. But late spring is when we gear up for four large summer productions, followed this year by three fall shows. That’s a lot of shows, and a great deal of cast members needed.

The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Wall of Honor, in the lobby of the BDACT Fine Arts Center, celebrates individuals with significant contributions to the development and growth of the organization. Areas of contribution include leadership, committees, performing, crews, production staff, directing and teaching.

Recently the space program has been in the news. It reminded me how the adventure fascinated me as a young boy growing up in Beaver Dam. I was 10 years old when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the moon in the 1960s.

Mission: Improv-able, as an improv show, seems at first glance to not have much happening behind the scenes. It's just improv, right? Jump on stage and make stuff up?

The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre (BDACT) is excited to announce the launch of its Pay It Forward Program, a new initiative that lets community members spread kindness by purchasing tickets or class passes for others to enjoy.
