Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre (BDACT) welcomes anyone interested in entertaining others to join us onstage. Our productions are successful due to the dedication and diversity of experiences our participants bring to the stage. From your audition to the final curtain call, the production team, staff, and fellow cast members all support your success. Don’t let the worry of stage fright or memorizing lines stop you! Throughout rehearsals, your role will become second nature. The curtain call will fill you with a sense of accomplishment!
Auditions are usually scheduled six to ten weeks before a production. Each director handles auditions slightly differently. Expect to read from the script with other audition candidates. For a musical, you may also need to prepare a vocal selection to sing with a karaoke track or bring sheet music for an accompanist (the audition information for the show will specify). Directors may also have some movement or dance exercises as part of the audition to see how you move on stage. Be prepared to complete a conflict calendar to help set the rehearsal calendar. Audition times, sign-up links, and casting information will be posted and shared through social media about three to four weeks before each audition.
