BDACT is proud to host The Paddle City Big Band in their third season of bringing jazz to the surrounding area!
Paddle City Big Band was established in 2022, taking BDACT’s stage twice a year with a spring and fall Sunday matinee concert. They are 19 members strong, consisting of local musicians who share a love for big band music. PCBB performs traditional big band music from Glenn Miller and Count Basie, to more contemporary arrangements in the big band style of familiar popular tunes.
Paddle City Big Band’s spring concert on April 27th, will feature compositions made popular by Count Basie (Fun Time), Glenn Miller (Little Brown Jug), Phil Collins (Against All Odds), Buddy Rich (Mercy, Mercy, Mercy), and Bill Holman’s arrangement of MASH.
We are also excited to have guest soloist Monica Hrudik who will join the band on violin featured on "Black Orpheus" and Some "Day My Prince Will Come".
