About The Show

You’ll love this lively adventure into the realm of the Gingerbread Clinic. where fairytale creatures like a Leprechaun, Jack-Be-Nimble, and the Big Bad Wolf arrive seeking help and creating mayhem. You never know what a day's work will bring at The Gingerbread Clinic.

Jacob is thrilled to begin his new job at the Gingerbread Clinic. It is a welcomed distraction after ending a four-year relationship with his ex-girlfriend Sophie.

When he is told by the always calm and poised clinic manager, Renee, that the clientele they serve are fairy tale creatures, Jacob handles it the way anyone would...he passes out.

If he recovers, he’ll deal with Leprechauns, the Big Bad Wolf, Jack-Be-Nimble, the blustery receptionist Brandy, and a brazen fairy named Morgana, who is keen to shutter the clinic permanently, erasing all fairy tales from existence.

Just another day at the Gingerbread Clinic!

While many characters are fairy tale creatures and kids will laugh at their exploits, this is not just a show for kids. Adults will appreciate the subtle humor woven throughout.

About The Author/Director:

DAN LANDSNESS (Director) Dan is a board member with BDACT, and works as a Radiographer for the Watertown Regional Medical Center. Dan has a 30-year improv and theater background with Comedy Sportz, Dinner Detective, and BDACT. Dan along with his wife, Kelli frequently visit roller coasters and theme parks. They feel theme parks provide fun, fantasy, and the illusion they are ten years younger than their current age. Dan is dedicating this play to the many empathetic health care workers, who treats quarrelsome patients every day, and to his loving wife Kelli.

Director's Message:

My wife Kelli and I work in health care.

When COVID-19 placed the world on hold in 2020, I worked as an X-ray tech in a clinic. The world halted, but hospitals and clinics did not. We were so busy we had to turn people away at reception because our current workload wouldn’t allow us to catch up before closing.

During that time, I met patients of all backgrounds and quirks. Many of them shared undesired opinions on every conceivable topic, including true love. These characters were too funny to ignore. They had to be portrayed in a play.

Then it occurred to me: Do Fairy Tale creatures have to overcome the same health concerns humans have? If they do, where do they go?

I wrote this for all healthcare workers who deal with difficult patients daily without complaint.   We want to complain, but if we do, it’s a HIPPA violation.
