Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre (BDACT) proudly announces the establishment of a new youth scholarship fund, designed to ensure that all children have the opportunity to participate in performing arts programming, regardless of financial circumstances.

The fund is made possible through the continued generosity of charter member John B. McKinstry and aligns with BDACT’s mission of “Theatre for Everyone.”

McKinstry has been a long-time supporter of BDACT programs and initiatives. In 2019, his contribution helped make the theatre’s renovation possible, resulting in the facility that now bears his name. Through the new fund, his support continues with a focus on removing financial barriers for youth participation in the arts.

McKinstry has stated that theatre education plays an important role in youth development, helping students build confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and community engagement.

The John B. McKinstry Fund covers class and participation fees for a range of youth programming, including Children’s Tell-A-Tale Theatre summer productions, Youth Theatre Education programs, One Voice Children’s Chorus, and future youth-focused classes and workshops.

There is no application process and no financial disclosure required. Families seeking assistance may inquire by calling the BDACT box office at 920-885-6891, visiting during regular box office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or speaking with a class instructor, show producer, or director.

BDACT encourages all area youth to participate in its programming and explore opportunities in the performing arts.

We’re looking for friendly faces to volunteer. From building sets to popping popcorn, or ushering...we have a spot for you! Join the fun.
