Cobble Me This

Steve Meyer is a talented artist and craftsman who loves bringing creative ideas to life. When his wife, Deb, Director of Cobble Me This, needed help creating a whimsical stage design for a Scottish

cobbler’s cottage in the mid-1700’s, she knew exactly who to lean into.

Steve began learning many of his design and construction skills while taking a stage design class at UW Madison, with this sister, Luanne. That was just the beginning of a long and varied involvement as she tapped into his stage design skills for productions she was directing at Lodi and Sun Prairie High Schools.

Steve and Deb’s first experience with BDACT was a learning project with eager middle school students. Deb directed her play Curses! A Fractured Fairies' Tale, while Steve and Tiffany Yohn taught students the basics of stagecraft. Together they designed and built the set and props.

The Meyer’s have always enjoyed working together on creative endeavors. Currently Deb's working with the actors, while Steve, has been working diligently in his shop designing and constructing many of the set pieces needed for the Cobbler’s cottage. In addition to his artistic craftsman skills, Steve’s an outstanding home chef and plays a mean guitar.
