A BDACT Youth Education Showcase
It’s time for your student to take the stage in our Class Act Showcase.
In this theatrical development class students will learn to embrace acting skills helping them to develop strong characters and confident stage presence. During the first eight weeks of class, students will focus on the foundations of acting through theatre games, ensemble-building activities, stage directions, character development, voice work, movement, focus, creativity, and improvisation. After this foundational period, instructors will select a short play for the students to perform in the Class Act Showcase at the end of March. The show is chosen after class has begun once instructors have assessed the students, their strengths, and the size of the group. The first weeks also serve as an “audition time,” allowing each student to grow, try new things, and show what they bring to the ensemble.
Former Class Act students are encouraged to sign up again, as each session offers new opportunities to build skills, gain confidence, work as a team, and shine on stage.
