This Summer Mainstage Musical is open to anyone ages 10 and above. This show has many delightful characters. The audition process will be fun and easy! We encourage multi-generations of a family to audition for this show, provided the youngest member of the group is a minimum of 10 years old. We're anticipating casting a large number of people to really fill our stage!

Auditioners will perform a prepared monologue of not more than 2 minutes in length, and be prepared to sing a song you enjoy which will show off your voice. (We don't need you to use the entire 2 minutes. A short monologue is fine. We don't need a long song, a verse and a chorus will do.)

While you are welcome to attend any of the audition windows for your short monologue and song selections, the dancing is in the evenings. If you want to show off your dance moves and have the best chance of landing a dancing role, please attend either Sunday or Monday evening. For those interested specifically in dance, we request you attend the auditions on Sunday EVENING at 6 pm, or Monday EVENING at 6 pm. We'll also teach you a few simple dance steps and have you dance in groups.

Rehearsal days and times: Sunday-Thursday 6 - 9 pm, June 1-July 28. (Not everyone will be required to attend every rehearsal.)

Required attendance days: Final 2 weeks of rehearsals July 20 - 28

Tech rehearsal Sunday, July 26.

Shrek Character Breakdown

1. Shrek

Vocal Range: Bb2 - F4
Description: The title character, a big-hearted ogre who embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

2. Fiona

Vocal Range: A3 - C6
Description: A princess with a secret, she is strong and independent.

3. Donkey

Vocal Range: A2 - A4
Description: Shrek's loyal companion, known for his humor and energy.

4. Lord Farquaad

Vocal Range: A2 - E4
Description: The main antagonist, a comically short ruler with grand ambitions. Performs the entire show on his knees.

5. Dragon

Vocal Range: F3 - C5
Description: A fierce dragon who eventually falls in love with Donkey.

6. Gingy (Gingerbread Man)

Vocal Range: A3 - C5
Description: A spirited gingerbread cookie with a lot of personality.

7. The Three Little Pigs

Vocal Range: Varies (typically A3 - C5)
Description: A trio of pigs who add humor and charm to the story.

8. The Big Bad Wolf

Vocal Range: A3 - C5
Description: A character who challenges stereotypes and adds to the fairy tale mix.

9. Pinocchio

Puppet with a nose that grows. Puppet like movements. Some singing and dancing.

10. Fairy Tale Creatures

An assortment of bears, mice, fairies, of all ages and types. Some singing and dancing.

11. Citizens of Duloc

A variety of citizens of the kingdom. Some singing and dancing.
