The members of the BDACT Nominating Committee have reviewed the candidates and offered the 2024 open board position to Jena Berg.
For those who know some history of BDACT, when I say that I performed in BDCT shows that were held at the Wisconsin Theatre across from Park Plaza Pizza, you know that I have been involved in this organization for a long time. Since my childhood, I have participated in BDACT both on stage and backstage, and my family and I were devoted audience members. I still recall the excitement I felt while watching my junior high teachers perform in Godspell. I was hooked.
Born and raised in Beaver Dam, I attended BDUSD schools, earned my college degree in education, and taught Communication and English in WI public schools for over 30 years. The last 25 years of my teaching career were spent at Beaver Dam High School in the English Department. In addition, I was heavily involved in the Beaver Dam High School drama program and served in multiple roles including choreographer, assistant director and director. Since my retirement from BDUSD, I have been employed at Summit Credit Union in Beaver Dam, and I have had a lot more time to be regularly involved in BDACT projects.
Accepting this nomination to the BDACT board is another way that I can demonstrate my commitment to this organization and our community. I look forward to learning more about the inner workings, challenges and successes of BDACT and helping shape the direction of BDACT now and in the future.
