BDACT Announces 2023 Main Stage Season

“BDACT’s leadership is delighted to announce this selection of entertaining productions for the upcoming season.  It’s wonderful to work with talented directors to assemble a season that our performers will be excited to participate in and that our audiences can make plans to enjoy.

You Can’t Take it With You is a 1937 Pulitzer prize winner for drama that was adapted for the screen, winning an Academy Award for Best Picture. The play, by George S. Kaufmann and Moss Hart, is set in a large New York City home during the 1930s and follows the escapades of the eccentric Vanderhof-Sycamore-Carmicheal clan. BDACT veteran Diane Lutz will direct this show.

Directed by Ricardo Ramirez

BDACT will embrace the laid-back vibe of the Caribbean in August for the Jimmy Buffet musical Escape to Margaritaville. The plot of this 2017 production revolves around a part-time bartender and singer who falls for a career-minded tourist. The audience is bound to want to sing along to the many Buffet tunes woven throughout the production. Directed by Ric Ramirez, a local playwright, performer, and director.

Directed by Ron Wilkie

Laughter on the 23rd Floor by Neil Simon focuses on the stars and writers of a 1950s TV comedy variety show and is based on his career as a writer on Your Show of Shows. ​​The 1993 Broadway play is notable for its insider’s look at the personalities and processes of television comedy writing. Ron Wilkie will direct this production.
